Happy to join the Aquarian Drum head family. Thank you everyone at Aquarian. Looking forward to working with you. Cheers!!!
Spending the day with the mikeslessons.com family today. We’re talking about what I call “money grooves.” Go to, timeless grooves that always challenge, inspire and work in a wide variety of situations. Thank you Mike Johnston, for having me down again.
Spent last night down at the Hopmonk doing an open mic with Murielle Adair. We debuted “Turn the Key.” It’s a beautiful song we wrote together, with a little help from my brilliantly talented friend Todd Herfindal, about following your dreams. In case you’re wondering how M did last night…she killed!!! She was AWESOME!!! Can’t wait to do another open mic very soon.
Recored vocals to “Turn the Key,” today. She nailed it. Looking forward to sharing the new song with you very soon.
Played drums on a song in this upcoming film. Worked on this with some of my closest friends Todd Herfindal, Kevin Houlihan, and the rest of the Meadows. The movie looks great. We kick in about half way through the trailer with Little Bit of Soul :)
One of the best things ever said to me in the studio. This one was said to me in a studio outside Koln, Germany, by bass player/songwriter Volker Leson, while working on the metal concept album Delany. “I need the toms to represent the final battle between the zombies and the vampires on the London bridge. I think you are just the man to do this.”
It was so much better than i’m describing it. You have to imagine blonde waist length hair, leather pants, an elven face, and the thickest German accent you’ve ever heard. It was beautiful and so awesomely surreal. Needless to say, I did do my best to represent the sounds of the undead battling to their….death?
Here’s a link to an article on Murielle Adair, and her vid “My Day.” Enjoy!
House of Wheels music is almost up and running. The Vimeo page is in the works, and I just posted My Day, by Murielle Adair. Many more vids to come. And I’ll be posting new songs from the artist I’ve written for and produced over the past year, as well as artists I’m working with now.
Here’s vid for a song I co wrote and co produced with Michael Phillip Taylor, Jennifer Tien, and Devin Powers; for 10 year rock star in the making Murielle Adair. Thanks to Jamie and Jennifer Tuell of Daydreamer Cinema, Daydreamer Cinema. You guys RULE!!!!!
There are a couple of new songs on my site as of today. Star, and My Day. Both are songs that I worked on with Michael Phillip Taylor and Jennifer “Blue” Tien, for an awesome 10 year old artist named Murielle Adair.
Tommy Rickard is a musician born and raised in Northern California. He is a singer/songwriter, drummer and guitarist, currently rooted in both San Francisco and Los Angeles.
He started playing drums young and spent his early days in local punk bands, opening shows for the likes of Black Flag, Dead Kennedys, Sea Hags, Victim’s Family, and Agent Orange. He constantly sought musicians or musical situations that would challenge him.
This restless search for a challenge, combined with his knack for playing exactly what a song needs, eventually landed Rickard on the road and in the studio with Vain , Linda Perry, Eric Martin, and many others, as well as a long list of independent singers, songwriters, and producers. All the while he kept at his studies with Bay Area teaching legend Chuck Brown.
While working with Perry, Tommy recorded her Grammy winning song “Beautiful”, which became a #1 single for Christina Aguilera.
Rickard has been touring to promote his new CD "Dream California." He recently completed a successful tour of Europe with his bandmates from Vain.
